The project
The complex. A strata of single-storey duplexes in Golden, with the Rockies and the Purcells on every side. The original roofs had reached the end of their life, and the council wanted the whole complex done to one standard.
Planning with the council. We worked directly with the strata council to fit the project to their budget: ordering shingles for every unit up front, scheduling the roofs in phases, and timing billing around the strata’s budget.
The roofs. Every roof was taken off down to the deck and replaced with Malarkey Vista shingles, with Malarkey starter strip, ice and water membrane and hip and ridge cap. The council chose to keep the original colour, so we matched it with Malarkey’s Silverwood and the complex looks just as it did from the street, only new. We also took care of owners’ satellite dishes, reinstalling the ones still in use and removing the rest.
The warranty. As a Malarkey Emerald Pro certified contractor, we registered the strata itself as the warranty holder, since the strata, not the individual owners, owns the roofs. We worked with the Malarkey rep to answer the council’s warranty questions before the work started.
