“What a great job this team did on our roof. They went the extra mile and made sure our neighbour’s trailer was tarped so it wouldn’t be damaged by falling debris. They did a good clean up each day and a final cleanup when they were done.”

Chestermere roofing, from the lakeshore to Chelsea
Chestermere began as the Summer Village of Chestermere Lake, became a town in 1993 and a city in 2015. It had about 3,900 residents in 2001 and 22,163 in the 2021 Census, so most houses in Westmere, Rainbow Falls, Chelsea and Dawson’s Landing were built this century.
The lake started out as an irrigation reservoir, and older houses from the summer-village days still sit near the shore beside large custom builds. Our crews come over from Calgary on Highway 1 or Chestermere Boulevard, so we are close by.
What we do in Chestermere
Here we work on two-storeys and bungalows in the newer communities, townhomes, lakefront and custom homes, and detached garages.
Our specialty
Roof Replacement
We strip the old roof down to the boards and put on a complete new one in architectural shingles or steel.
Exteriors
Siding Replacement
Vinyl, fibre cement or steel siding, with trim and soffit to suit the rest of the house.
Roof maintenance
35-Point Roof Tune-Up
For roofs that aren’t ready for replacement: we reseal flashings and vents, replace damaged shingles and check for weak spots. Typically $1,500–$5,000 + GST, with a 2-year warranty.
Shingle roofs in Chestermere
Asphalt is on most Chestermere houses, and it suits the two-storeys and bungalows that fill the newer communities. When original shingles wear thin, a full replacement starts with a tear-off to the wood and ends with a roof that is built and vented as one system. See how a replacement is done.
Malarkey Emerald Pro™ certified contractor
Emerald Pro is Malarkey’s top contractor level. Installing the complete Malarkey system is what lets eligible roofs qualify for extended manufacturer coverage.
Architectural shingles
Most popularA common upgrade in the newer subdivisions when the original roof comes off, with a thicker, layered build that holds on better in gusts.
Impact-rated shingles
A heavier shingle made to resist cracking from hail and debris, for owners who plan to stay put.
Designer shingles
Slate and shake looks that suit the custom homes along the lake.
Built for wind
Metal roofing in Chestermere
Steel is a fair question for a lake home you plan to keep for a long time. Panels lock together with no tabs to lift, snow slides off, and a good steel roof can outlast two shingle roofs. It costs more at the start, so we quote metal next to shingles at the same visit and you can weigh the two. Read about metal roofing.
New siding for Chestermere houses
Houses built here in the early 2000s often still have their first vinyl, and the south and west walls usually show it first with fading and cracks. If you do siding, roof and eavestroughs together, we can match the colours across all three. New panels go on over house wrap, with every window and door flashed first. See siding options.
Fibre cement
Our top pickHolds its colour, won’t burn, and stays straight through hot summers and cold snaps. Offered in lap, board-and-batten and shingle patterns.
Vinyl
An affordable, quick refresh for a newer two-storey or townhome.
Metal siding
Steel panels that work on shops, garages and feature walls and look right beside a metal roof.
Inside a Chestermere roof replacement
East of the city, the lifespan of a new roof hinges on four details.
01
Solid decking
Once the shingles are off we check every sheet of decking, replace soft spots and re-nail the rest.
02
Ice dam protection
After a chinook thaw, ice and water membrane at the eaves and valleys keeps ice-dam meltwater from working under the shingles.
03
Skylights, vents and pipes
Skylights, vents and pipe boots are where most leaks start, so each gets new parts or fresh flashing.
04
Built for open-prairie wind
Proper nailing, starter strips that seal and ridge caps fixed firmly help the roof ride out wind blowing in from the open fields.
Your Chestermere project, step by step
Most houses take a day or two once materials arrive. Here is the order things happen in.
It starts with a visit to look at the roof up close and take photos.
- 01
We look first
Every slope, flashing, skylight and vent gets checked, and you receive photos of anything that needs work.
- 02
A clear written price
The quote lists each material and step with dates; add siding or eavestroughs and they appear on the same page.
- 03
Clean as we go
Debris goes straight into the bin, and a magnet roller sweeps the yard and driveway for nails each evening.
- 04
Sign-off and a return trip
Before we leave we inspect the new roof together, and a year on we come back to look at it again.
Roof problems we see in Chestermere
Roofs from the building boom
The population grew more than fivefold between 2001 and 2021, so whole streets got their roofs in the same few years. A roof from that era is finished once granules collect in the eavestroughs and the shingles curl or show bare spots.
Older houses near the lake
Shoreline homes from the summer-village days often have additions, sunrooms and low-slope sections. Those areas need a proper membrane, not shingles laid below their rated pitch.
Wind with nothing to stop it
There is little to slow the wind on the flat land east of Calgary. Ridge caps and tabs that lift every season mean the seal strips have let go.
Water stains near skylights
When a stain appears on the ceiling below a skylight or bath fan, the cause is often worn flashing or a split pipe boot.
Eavestroughs spilling over
Troughs that overflow in spring melt send water down the walls and toward the basement, so we check them whenever we look at a roof.

Chestermere roofing FAQ
Don’t see your question? Call us at (403) 333-0319.
How much does a roof replacement cost in Chestermere?
Roof size, pitch, the layers being removed, any deck repairs and your material all play a part. Once we have seen the roof, you get a price broken down item by item.
My Chestermere house was built in the 2000s. Is the roof due?
Many homes from that decade still have their first shingles. Age alone doesn’t decide it; granule loss, curling and lifting do, and we can check for those.
Do you work on older lake homes?
Yes. Older shoreline houses often have additions and low-slope sections, and we price the right membrane for those areas along with the main roof.
How can I tell my roof needs replacing?
Look for curling or cracked shingles, bare spots where granules have washed off, and hail bruising across several slopes. We inspect, show you photos and say plainly if replacement can wait.
Do you also do siding and eavestroughs?
We do. Siding options include vinyl, fibre cement and steel, and we also put up seamless eavestroughs and downspouts and replace soffit and fascia.
What warranty do you offer?
Every roof we put on carries our 10-Year Labour Warranty in writing, and some shingle lines come with up to 50 years of manufacturer coverage.
What areas around Chestermere do you serve?
The whole city, plus Langdon, Conrich, Rocky View County and east Calgary.
