Our Columbia Valley team, based in Invermere
An Invermere roofing company for lake and mountain homes
Invermere roofs see a bit of everything: heavy wet snow in winter, fast freeze-thaw swings in spring, strong sun off the lake in summer and wildfire smoke most Augusts. A lot of homes around Lake Windermere are second homes, so a small leak can go unnoticed for weeks. We see worn and lifting shingles, missing ridge caps, leaks at chimneys and vents, tired low-slope roofs over decks and garages, and owners who want to move to a metal roof that lasts longer and stands up better to wildfire season.
Our Columbia Valley crew is based right here in Invermere, so inspections, quotes, repairs and one-year check-ups are easy to book. Every job starts with a roof inspection, usually with a drone, and you get the photos. That matters if you live in Calgary or Edmonton most of the year: you can see exactly what is happening on your roof without driving out.

Strata, condo & commercial
Strata and commercial roofing in Invermere
Invermere has a lot of townhome complexes, lakefront condos and resort buildings, and we have re-roofed many of them, including multi-building strata complexes in town and the Kanata Inn on Arrow Road. Strata projects run with one point of contact for the property manager or strata council, a written scope and price for each building, a schedule residents can plan around, and a tidy site every day around parked cars and walkways. More about our strata roofing.
Strata & condo re-roofs
Multi-buildingTownhome and condo complexes re-roofed building by building, with notices for residents and a written scope the council can approve.
Property managers
Roof assessments with drone photos for every building, so you can plan repairs and replacements and budget for them ahead of time.
Hotels, resorts & commercial
Shingle, metal and low-slope roofs, fascia, venting and eavestroughs on hotels, resort buildings and commercial properties, scheduled around guests and business hours.
Asphalt shingles
Shingle roofing built for lake-country winters
Snow can sit on an Invermere roof for weeks, and meltwater that refreezes at the cold eaves is hard on any roof. With Columbia Valley freeze-thaw cycles, asphalt shingles usually need replacing at around 15 years, and cedar shake can last a bit longer. An inspection tells you exactly where your roof stands. When we re-roof, we strip to the deck and install a complete system: ice and water protection at the eaves, in the valleys and around every chimney and skylight, balanced roof ventilation to keep the roof deck cold, new flashings and Class A fire-rated shingles. How our roof replacements work.
Malarkey Emerald Pro™ certified contractor
Emerald Pro is Malarkey’s highest contractor certification. It means our installers follow the manufacturer’s full system, which is what makes enhanced warranty coverage possible on eligible Invermere roofs.
Architectural shingles
Most popularA heavier, dimensional shingle and the usual choice when replacing an older shingle or cedar shake roof in Invermere.
Impact-rated shingles
A tougher, heavier shingle that resists cracking and scuffing. A good fit for homes and buildings that will see a lot of winters.
Designer shingles
Shake- and slate-look profiles that keep the look of a mountain roof without the upkeep of real cedar.
Our 10-Year Labour Warranty comes with every Invermere roof, and select shingle lines carry manufacturer warranties of up to 50 years.
Fire-resistant
Metal roofing
Metal roofing in Invermere
Metal is the most popular roof upgrade we install in the Columbia Valley. A steel roof is fire-resistant, with a Class A fire rating, so embers that land on it during wildfire season have nothing to catch on. It sheds snow instead of holding it, will not rot or grow moss, and suits the timber-and-stone mountain homes around Invermere. Because snow comes off metal quickly, we plan snow guards over entrances, decks and walkways. Metal costs more up front, so we price metal and shingles side by side and let you choose. More about metal roofing.
- Standing-seam and steel-panel roofs
- Class A fire-rated, fire-resistant
- Snow guards over entries and decks
- Quoted side by side with shingles
Siding
Fire-resistant siding in Invermere
Many Invermere homes and cabins still have wood siding that is now weathered, split or pulling away, and plenty of owners want something that holds up better in wildfire season. James Hardie fibre cement is non-combustible, so it will not catch fire from embers, and it holds its colour through strong lake sun and long winters. Many of our Invermere siding and roofing projects are done together, so the whole exterior is finished at once. Every siding job goes over fresh house wrap, with windows, doors and outside corners flashed before the first panel goes on. Compare our siding options.
James Hardie fibre cement
Fire-resistantNon-combustible and dimensionally stable, so it stands up to wind, embers and sun, and holds its factory colour for years. Comes in lap, board-and-batten and shingle looks.
Metal siding
Durable, non-combustible steel panels for garages, accent walls and modern mountain exteriors, and an easy match for a metal roof.
Vinyl
Lower cost and low maintenance, and a quick way to refresh a rental or cabin in a new colour.
Seamless
Eavestroughs & soffit
Eavestroughs, soffit and fascia in Invermere
We are a full exterior company, not only a roofer. We install seamless eavestroughs and downspouts, replace soffit and fascia, and repair troughs that sag, leak or overflow. In the Columbia Valley, pine needles, heavy snow and ice are hard on gutters, so we size them for mountain run-off and pitch them to drain.
- Seamless eavestroughs and downspouts
- Soffit and fascia replacement, including rotted wood
- Eavestrough repairs, re-sloping and leak fixes
- Done with your roof or on their own
How we build it
What goes into an Invermere re-roof
A Columbia Valley roof has to carry snow, shed meltwater and stand up to wind, sun and wildfire season. These are the four places we spend extra time on every Invermere roof.
01
A solid deck under everything
After tear-off we check every sheet of decking and replace anything soft or rotted. Older cedar shake roofs are often laid over spaced boards, so we add solid sheathing before the new roof goes on.
02
Ice and water protection
Membrane along the eaves, in every valley and around chimneys and skylights keeps meltwater from backing up under the roof when ice builds up at the edge.
03
Flashing around chimneys & vents
Chimneys, skylights and plumbing vents are where most Invermere leak calls start. On a re-roof we replace pipe boots and vents and re-flash chimneys and skylights instead of reusing the old parts.
04
Ventilation and ridge for mountain weather
Balanced intake and exhaust ventilation keeps the roof deck cold, so snow does not melt from below. Properly fastened ridge caps and edges keep the roof together when the wind comes up the lake.
How it works
How an Invermere roof replacement works
From the first inspection to the check-up a year later, this is what an Invermere roof replacement looks like. Once materials are delivered, most homes are finished in a few days, and strata projects are scheduled building by building.
Every Invermere quote starts with a hands-on inspection of the roof, chimneys and vents, usually with a drone. Our team includes a HAAG® and IICRC® certified inspector.
- 01
Roof inspection
We check the roof covering, flashings, chimneys, vents and roof ventilation, and send you drone photos of anything that needs attention, even if you are not in town.
- 02
A written quote
Materials, scope and timeline laid out line by line. For strata and commercial properties, each building can be priced separately.
- 03
Installation, done carefully
Bins placed so driveways and parking stay clear, magnetic nail sweeps and a tidy site every day.
- 04
Walkthrough & one-year visit
We walk the finished roof with you, or send you the photos, then come back the next year to check it after its first full winter.
Local knowledge
Roof problems we see most in Invermere
Worn and lifting shingles
Strong sun and freeze-thaw swings dry shingles out until tabs lift, crack or blow off. Missing ridge caps are a common find on our drone inspections.
Ice dams along the eaves
When snow melts on a warm roof and refreezes at the cold edge, ice builds up and pushes water under the shingles. Better ventilation and ice and water protection at the eaves are the long-term fix.
Leaks at chimneys and vents
Chimney flashing and plumbing vent boots are behind most of the leaks Invermere homeowners call us about. We can repair them, and on a re-roof we replace every boot and re-flash chimneys.
Leaks nobody notices at second homes
When a cabin sits empty for weeks, a small leak can soak decking and insulation before anyone sees it. A drone inspection and photos tell you where the roof stands without a trip out.
Tired low-slope roofs over decks and garages
Many lake homes have flat or low-slope sections. These need the right membrane and drainage, not shingles below their rated pitch.
Needles and wildfire embers
Needles collect in valleys and eavestroughs, hold moisture against the roof and give embers something to catch on. Fire-resistant metal roofing and fibre cement siding help.
Asphalt & metal
Repairs & tune-ups
Roof repair and tune-ups in Invermere
Not every roof needs replacing. If yours has a leak, lifted shingles or loose metal flashing, we repair it, whether the roof is asphalt or metal. A tune-up after a hard winter catches small problems before water reaches the deck, and many Columbia Valley cabin owners book one each spring or fall.
- Asphalt shingle repairs: lifted, cracked or missing shingles and ridge caps
- Metal roof repairs: loose fasteners, worn washers, seams, snow guards and flashing
- Leak tracing around chimneys, skylights, vents and valleys
- Roof tune-ups with photos and a written report of what we found

Real questions from Invermere property owners
Each of these is based on a real request from an Invermere-area property owner. We have removed names and addresses.
“We live in Calgary and only get out to the lake a few times a year. Can you look at the roof and tell us what it needs?”
Yes. We inspect the roof, usually with a drone, and send you the photos and a written, line-by-line quote, so you can decide without making the drive.
Roof inspection →“We are thinking about going from shingles to metal. Is it worth it here?”
For many Columbia Valley homes it is. Metal is fire-resistant, sheds snow and lasts a long time. We quote metal and shingles side by side so you can compare the cost.
Metal roofing →“The flat roof over our deck is leaking and the fascia is rotting.”
Low-slope roofs need a membrane system, not shingles. We replace the membrane, the drip edge and any soft fascia, and make sure the water drains away.
Roof repair →“We manage a townhome complex in Invermere. Several roofs are near the end of their life.”
We inspect every building and give the property manager and strata council a written assessment with drone photos and a clear scope, so the work can be approved, budgeted and scheduled.
Strata roofing →How much does a roof replacement cost in Invermere?
Price depends on roof size and pitch, what is coming off, what the deck looks like underneath and whether you choose shingles or metal. We inspect the roof first, usually with a drone, then give you a line-by-line written quote that is easy to compare with other Invermere roofing companies.
Do you do roof repairs in Invermere, or only full replacements?
We do both. Our Invermere crew repairs asphalt shingle and metal roofs, including leaks, lifted or missing shingles, loose metal fasteners and worn flashing. We also do roof tune-ups each spring or fall, with photos of what we find.
Do you install eavestroughs, soffit and fascia in Invermere?
Yes. We are a full exterior company. We install seamless eavestroughs and downspouts, replace soffit and fascia and repair troughs that sag or leak, either with a new roof or on their own.
Do you install metal roofing in Invermere?
Yes. Metal is the most popular upgrade we install in the Columbia Valley. We install standing-seam and steel-panel roofs on homes, cabins, garages and commercial buildings, and we quote metal side by side with shingles so you can compare cost and lifespan.
Is metal roofing fire-resistant?
Yes. The steel roofing we install carries a Class A fire rating, the highest rating for roof coverings, so embers that land on it have nothing to catch on. Paired with non-combustible James Hardie fibre cement siding, it is one of the best ways to make a Columbia Valley home more fire-resistant.
I live out of town. Can you inspect my Invermere roof without me there?
Yes. Many of our Invermere customers have second homes at the lake. We inspect the roof, usually with a drone, and send you the photos and a written quote, so you can see exactly what is going on before you decide.
Do you work on strata, condo and commercial roofs in Invermere?
Yes. We re-roof and repair townhome and condo complexes, resort buildings, hotels and commercial properties, and we work with property managers and strata councils on a written scope and schedule for each building.
What areas around Invermere do you serve?
All of Invermere, plus Athalmer, Wilmer, Windermere, Fairmont Hot Springs, Radium Hot Springs, Panorama, Canal Flats and the rest of the Columbia Valley.
What warranty do you offer?
Our 10-Year Labour Warranty covers every roof we install, and select shingles carry manufacturer warranties of up to 50 years. A year after the job, we return to check the roof once it has been through a winter.
Do you install James Hardie siding in Invermere?
Yes. We install James Hardie fibre cement siding, which is non-combustible and holds its colour through strong sun and long winters. We often quote the roof and siding together as one exterior project.
Do you offer roof tune-ups in Invermere?
Yes. Our 35 Point Roof Tune-Up is a full maintenance visit that checks and services flashings, vents, sealants and eavestroughs, and it helps an older roof last longer.
