The inspection
What we found. The tar and gravel roof was worn, with moss growing through the gravel and rusted flashings around the chimney and vents.
What we recommended. Remove the gravel and the old tar roof down to the wood, replace any rotten plywood, and install a modern two-ply membrane: a mechanically fastened Soprafix base sheet and a granulated cap sheet.
The details. New penetration flashings, salvaging the large B-vent flashing and copper drains where possible, a new gravel stop edge around the whole perimeter, and wall stripping where needed.
