Roof and Eavestrough Inspection in Elbow Park, Calgary

An Elbow Park homeowner asked us to check their roof for storm damage. We found none, but the roof was showing its age, so we gave them a photo report and options to plan ahead.

The inspection

The question. The homeowner wanted to know if storms had damaged their roof.

How we checked. In October 2023 we inspected the roof up close and from above: shingles, ridges, the brick wall flashing, roof edges and eavestrough.

What we found. No storm damage. The roof was simply getting older: cracked and curling shingles, worn granules, and eavestrough packed with debris.

Our answer. Nothing urgent from a storm, but the roof and eavestrough were nearing the end of their life. We sent a photo report and quotes in three shingle options, so the homeowner could plan a replacement on their own timeline.

No storm damage doesn’t mean no wear

Age shows up slowly: cracks, curling and lost granules. Knowing early lets you plan a new roof on your schedule, not in an emergency.
