Euroshield Rubber Roof on a Log A-Frame Cabin in Invermere

A log A-frame cabin above Lake Windermere needed a new roof that could handle mountain snow and wind and still suit the setting. We installed a Euroshield rubber roof.

The project

The cabin. On an A-frame, the roof is most of what you see. It runs almost to the ground on both sides, so it takes the full weight of the snow and the wind coming off the lake.

What the owners wanted. A roof that would last, shed snow well and look at home on a log cabin in the trees, rather than something that looked out of place from the water.

Why rubber. Euroshield is made from recycled rubber. It is impact resistant, flexes in the cold instead of cracking, and has a natural, textured look that suits a log home.

What we did. We stripped the old roof, checked the decking, installed new underlayment and laid the Euroshield roof, finishing the chimney, ridge and edges to match.

The result. A tough, quiet roof that blends in with the trees, and a cabin that is ready for many more winters by the lake.
