Designer shingles are laminated in extra layers, so each piece is thicker and casts a deeper shadow than a standard architectural shingle. From the street they read as slate or hand-split shake. On a two-storey home with lots of roof showing, that difference is easy to see.
We help you pick a colour against your brick, stucco or siding before anything is ordered. Many designer lines also come impact-rated, which matters in a city that sees hail most summers.

A heavier shingle only performs if what sits under it is right. We strip to the deck, replace soft boards, and install new underlayment, ice and water protection at the eaves and valleys where ice dams form, and balanced ventilation. Ridge caps are matched to the shingle line.
With Alberta’s freeze-thaw cycles, asphalt shingles usually need replacing at around 15 years, and cedar shake can last a bit longer. If you are planning around that, a roof inspection tells you how much life is left.

Extra laminated layers and a cut pattern that copies slate or shake. They are thicker and heavier than standard architectural shingles.

Can my roof structure take them?
